In an effort to practice with my new lighting set that I hope to use for wedding and portrait photographs I took the photograph above of my 1969 Dodge Dart. Purchased in the fall of 2004 this beauty came from the original owner who was 95 and lived in a quiet neighborhood in Visalia. Though the car hadn’t seen many miles there was still a lot of work that needed to be done, especially after a bad oil pump cost me an engine rebuild/repair.
I purchased my new lighting kit so that quality images could be produced that have depth and controlled shadows to them instead of always relying on the angle of the sun to create the light that was needed. The light kit is very nice, compact and light weight allowing for studio quality photographs taken at any location. The softboxes and umbrella’s take advantage of my already purchased equipment, Canon 580ex and 430ex flashes, for a light source and require no extra cabling to trigger.. This allows me to use ETTL light control straight from my camera, producing quality exposed images every shot.
