El Diamante vs. Clovis North
After seeing my work from last years game featuring the El Diamante Miners vs. Golden West Trailblazers in the battle for the sadel I was invited back for a couple games this season, highlighting the senior players on the team. Returning back from vacation early I was able to photograph one of the early season games for the 2012 El Diamante Miner football team.
El Diamante vs. Clovis North
This year upon return from my vacation I was immediately thrown back into photographing sports, and again I remembered how refreshing it is to start the weekend with a friday night under the lights smelling freshly cut grass and watching football.
In their game against the Clovis North Bronco’s the El Diamante Miners came out after a winning JV game strong, ready to fight for each touchdown, even as a visiting team there was quite a crowd gathered on the visiting side.
Ms. W Senior Portrait Session 2
After our first session in which we took advantage of the country side Ms. W wanted another session more close to home, with photographs much more focused on her face. Below is a a sample of the photographs taken in Downtown Visalia and Mooney’s Grove.
Damon’s Senior Portraits
Damon and Ms. S having known each other for so long came as a pair for their senior photographs, each taking their turn posing in the many area’s around Visalia that we visited. The rain just before and during the photographs made it fun for us all as we all enjoyed the rain and the sparkle that it added to the photographs.
Having Ms. S a friend of many years through Mt. Whitney high school along greatly lightened the mood and made every image fun. Many thanks to Ms. S and Damon.
BJ’s Senior Portraits
BJ and I had a great time talking about his hobbies and interests while taking his senior photographs, the highlight was taking photographs of him with his truck, which was supposed to be a lot more dirty than it turned out. Never before had I taken portraits with such a large prop.
BJ was one of the many senior’s that will be leaving the CVC Cavaliers this year and will leave a large gap for another player to fill next year as the Cavaliers start their football season, it’s always sad to see great players graduate, even more exciting though is watching players such as BJ develop into great football players over their four years in high school.
Though the day turned out to be a little cloudy I was happy with every single photograph that was taken, and can’t wait to help through the process of ordering the final images for print.
Ms. S. Senior Photographs
Ms. S ran around Visalia taking photographs in some amazingly beautiful places after a bit of rain. She was a complete doll to take photographs of every image was almost effortless for her to pose for just like Ms. W, I think honestly that girls just have it down after teasing all of the boys at school. Anyway here are the photographs, and a link for those that want to browse.
Varsity Lady Cavaliers vs. Mission Oaks
With the nice warm spring sun at their backs it was a wonderful day to be outside, and living in California’s Central Valley, and a great day for a softball game. Though the CVC Lady Cavalier Varsity Softball team had a hard time getting the runs necessary to beat Mission Oaks High both fans and athletes would have been hard pressed to find a better day to be on the softball diamond. Photographs taken at the game can be found here.
Afternoon and spring sports have a certain advantage over other sports, for one there is usually more light, this makes the job as a photographer much more easy with concern for lighting the scene and getting the athlete in correct focus.
CVC Lady Cavaliers vs. Exeter Union High Monarchs
At this game, last of the regular season, the CVC Lady Cavaliers, parents and fans took a moment to recognize the six graduating seniors and their parents.
CVC Cavaliers vs. Undefeated Kingsburg Vikings
The Central Valley Christian Cavaliers took to the field attempting to upset the undefeated Kingsburg Vikings this week, however with their amazing quarterback Tyler Bray, great receivers, and heavy line the Cavaliers were only able to slow their defeat. The Cavaliers, with players playing both directions, did a great job coming together as a team to hold the Vikings throughout the game.
Additional CVC Cheer Videos
This past week the CVC Cheer leading squad honored their Seniors and had prepared a new halftime routine. I recorded it for the continued enjoyment of the Cheer Leaders. Great job this week.
The halftime routine started with just a couple of the cheerleaders and something that they had put together:
And then the entire squad made their way to the field to dazzle the crowd:
