Visalia Rescue Mission – Run for Hope

During this past weekend, I was asked to photograph the first annual Visalia Rescue Mission run for hope. A run who’s proceeds were to benefit the Visalia Rescue Mission and their efforts to impact the Visalia community and it’s poor and in need.

On a daily basis the Visalia rescue serves hundreds of meals to those who otherwise wouldn’t receive a meal at all.

In addition to their standard, help the poor, mission it is also the Visalia Rescue Missions goal to share Christ with the people that they come in contact with and provide subsance abuse counsiling.

Photographs from the event from KJFPhoto.com and Photo Booth photographs by Third Element Studios can be purchased at the following link with all proceeds being donated to the Visalia Rescue Mission

2010 Kingsburg Dala Horse Trot Photographs

Opening with an electric guitar version of “The Star Spangled Banner” this years Kingsburg Swedish Festival Dala Horse Trot was held under much better conditions compared to the year prior. This years Dala Horse Trot competitors were blessed with a run held within the city limits and under mostly shaded streets.

Photographs of many finishing their race, 2 k walk, 2k run, or 10k run can be found here.
(Please note that photographs are sorted in the order of completion of the race.)

I attended again this year as an observer and took photographs of as many competitors as I could keep in focus.

This year I was also able to participate in the pancake breakfast at which they served Swedish pancakes, a type of crepe, a nice thin pancake with lots of flavor.

Perhaps next year I will also be able to hang around for the parade and a portion of the craft fair.

For those of you that were actually able to run in the Kingsburg Dala Horse Trot, one of the many events in the 44th annual traditional Kingsburg Swedish Festival, congratulations on even feeling up to competing in the run/walk race. I attended mostly as an observer but felt compelled to share the photographs with those that may have competed.
